Get to Know Marvin Brown
The name “Marvin Brown” may sound quite simple, but the man himself is anything but. Acting as the Director of Operations/Marketing & Strategy for Production Rockstars, his skill set and the expertise he provides is evocative of the company name.
While he wears multiple hats within Production Rockstars, his main goal is singularly, yet simply defined. That is, to take the core elements of Production Rockstars and maximize those to the extent of executing “great ideas and concepts.”
Along with CEO Tre James – with whom he shares a Georgia native kinship – Brown has begun to chart the course of Production Rockstars’ ascension.
That ascension is squarely focused on the folks who make up Production Rockstars, which is a fast-growing arm of Karter Paul Brands.
While the company specializes in virtual production, live streaming, live TV and event production, digital content creation and so forth, the provision of training and education in each of those areas for Production Rockstars’ team members is perpetual.
In essence, the scope of services provided by Production Rockstars is wide-ranging and ever-evolving for the sake of cultivating a network of talent behind the camera and empowering those individuals.
Brown has worked consistently and diligently to ensure that.
“We’re young black guys from Georgia, so we are absolutely focused on black excellence, but it’s excellence first,” Brown stated. “Our blackness informs our decision making and it really inspires our creativity. The African American experience is such a unique one that it really requires a creative understanding of how to navigate the world we live in.”They take that same approach, Brown says, to being creative and not letting obstacles get in the way when it comes to the projects they take on with Production Rockstars.
“Production Rockstars is kind of there to inspire creativity and inspire people to think big. It’s part of a larger set of businesses that is really focused on improving the education of young people in the industry and improving opportunities and raising the standard of live production,” he stated further.Being “on the verge of a major undertaking” that is the expansion of all its brands, Brown, James and fellow stakeholders made a concerted decision with regard to partnerships to ensure a passion for excellence was what aligned all parties involved.
“We’re looking at all aspects of production within our brand and we’re making sure that we’re leveraging each and every opportunity to exceed expectations,” said Brown, noting the inclusion of middle and high schools, career days, and educational courses to be made available on various platforms that yield results. “We’re really creating a pipeline of talent for the Atlanta film industry and live production industry, but also a pipeline for talent just for the U.S.”
What Production Rockstars has achieved and is looking to achieve has not been without its challenges, but Brown firmly believes that embracing adversity is part of what makes a “true rockstar." And, at this pace, he predicts that in a few years, people might be amazed by how quickly the scope of the Production Rockstars’ business expands.
